Sometimes, I look at the trees and wonder what they’ve seen. So many sunrises and sunsets. Years of drought and years of plenty. Storms that have ripped off their limbs. All the creatures who have sheltered in their branches. The trees saw us in our infancy, and they will see us at our end.
