Hello friends,
It's been a rough week, y'all.
I'm trying out different strains of medical marijuana to hone in on the best ones for me, but the experiment has not been kind. My leg's been bothering me more, and the fatigue has intensified. It's been difficult waking up and getting going every day. I started a few different stories this week but didn't finish any of them (although hopefully, by the time you see this, I'll have published at least one article this week). When the fatigue gets this bad, focusing on anything substantial is like trying to see straight with crossed eyes. Mostly I end up staring off into space or fiddling around with something mindless. My brain hurts.
I haven't done a water change on my fish tank in a couple of weeks. The tannins from the driftwood are beginning to build up and color the water. They aren't harmful, but I'm not really going for the whole tea-stained look. Hopefully, I'll get to it tomorrow. Hopefully, I won't say that again tomorrow.
It's 9:05 p.m. on Thursday, as I type this. My dad just walked by and said, "The party starts at 9:05." He says this when he catches the clock at the right time. When he was in college, there was a liquor store near him called 9:05. Their slogan was, you guessed it, "The party starts at 9:05." My dad proclaimed the start of the party and then promptly went to bed. I'm thinking of going to sleep myself and finishing this in the morning. Right now, it feels like an odd stream-of-consciousness book that's artsy but lacks any actual plot. Maybe tomorrow, I'll find some structure—right after I clean my fish tank.
It's the next day. I'm back. I still haven't done a water change on my tank. I only slept seven hours last night, and while that may be a lot for some people, it's not nearly enough for me. I'm feeling ok, though. I'll finish one of the articles I was working on as soon as I'm done here. Also, the Rays are playing Game 1 against the Astros today, so I'll have a little baseball as the backdrop to my aquarium cleaning. Any other sports fans out there?
I think I'll leave it at that for this week. Here's to more sleep and clean aquariums in my future.
See you next week,
Yardena
