Following the light
Hello friends,
I have some housekeeping to get out of the way before I dive into this week’s newsletter. I’m trying out Squarespace’s email marketing, so that’s why the design looks a little different. I also had to import my subscriber list, which can sometimes result in weird formatting. Hopefully, though, everything gets to your inbox in one piece.
Ok, now that’s out of the way. Let’s get to the good stuff. Some of you have already read the first installment of my new column, Mundanities. Here’s the link, though, for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet.
Initially, I was going to run this column every week. But I changed my mind: surprise, surprise. I decided to run it monthly instead. This allows me to write slightly longer pieces and to spend a bit more time with them. And while I made this first one available for free, Mundanities will only be available to patrons. So join my Patreon if you want to keep reading!
I also did two full yoga workouts this week for the first time in a long time. I felt proud of myself, even if I did almost fall asleep right in the middle of one of those workouts. I would have kept the streak going, but I knocked my neck out of whack.
Having my body betray me even as I'm trying to make it healthier was a gut-punch. I spent the second half of the week snuggling with an icepack and a bottle of ibuprofen. The pain kept me awake for several nights. At this point, my exhaustion is some combination of MS, depression, and sleep deprivation.
Even so, glimmers of hope remain—a new column, film mailed off to be processed, a plant in need of repotting. Oh, and hockey's back. You can't be depressed when hockey's back. So I'll keep stumbling along, following the lights in the darkness.
Until next time, have a lovely week,
Yardena
