Hello friends,
Oh man, where do I even start? I guess I'll start with my MRI results. They showed that my pesky little brain lesions have been unchanged since my last MRI a year ago. That's a good thing, except for the fact that my symptoms look like a pretty clear MS exacerbation. So my doctor ordered a new MRI of my cervical and thoracic spine to see if I have any lesions there.
My doctor also wants to get me started on a new medication because the one I'm currently on isn't working too well if I relapse after being on it for only four months. That's also a good thing, except for the fact that I need to go for even more blood tests and a mammogram. Yeah, I'm 27, and I need a mammogram. This new infusion my doctor wants to start me on works well and has virtually no side effects—other than an increased risk for breast cancer. That sounds scary, but the way my doctor explained, it's not likely to happen. I still need a mammogram before starting the infusions to ensure I don't already have breast cancer. On the hilarious end of things, the imaging center I use is where my aunt works as a mammo tech, so maybe my aunt will be the one to squish my boobs. We'll see.
As for the medical marijuana I'm now taking, I'm not totally convinced it's doing anything for me. It feels like my leg muscles loosen up a bit but not enough to justify the absurd amount of money I'd be spending if I bought this stuff regularly. I will keep trying it, but I don't know if I'll stick with it in the long run.
Well, that's pretty much it for this roller coaster of a week. How about y'all? Am I the only one that's been for a ride? Let me know.
See you next week,
Yardena
