Hello friends,
A few weeks ago, I noticed that my right leg seemed weaker than usual, and my knee and hip were constantly uncomfortable. I figured this was an MS exacerbation, so I called my neurologist, and he ordered an MRI to see how my brain lesions were doing. My old lesions might be active again, or I may have new lesions. I hope these symptoms are temporary, but I won't know until after the MRI. That's scheduled for later tonight.
I have to walk with a cane now, but at least my cane looks incredible. I also just bought another one for variety. And a friend is making me a custom cane as well. What can I say? I like choices. If I have to use a cane, I might as well look good.
Fatigue is a constant companion, dragging me down all day, every day. It takes twice as much energy to do everything, and I'm exhausted from the moment I get out of bed in the morning to when I get back into bed at night. Even so, I've made a ton of progress toward my goal of becoming a full-time writer. I finally started sending out this newsletter, for one. I'm also really excited about the potential of this publication.
I also just got my medical marijuana card, which still feels funny to talk about. But I hope talking about it can help decrease the stigma so more people feel like they can turn to medical marijuana if it helps with their symptoms. Do any of you have medical marijuana cards? Reply to this email and let me know. I'm curious.
See you next week,
Yardena
