INTERESTING. I once read where black & white were " cultural equalizers " or some similar term in both photography & cinema as well as television in an essay. The author's idea had SOME MERIT.
I've heard this as well, but I disagree. I think both black and white and color have their place. They have different tones and tell different stories, but I don't think one is inherently better or more powerful than the other.
What about a 50 / 50 split & saying that there are places for both ? I grew up in a world where color in movies & TV were still kind of new, so I know what the writer meant & where she was coming from.
